Hello world!

Hi! I’m Charity, and I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome to The Lived-In Life—a place where I share our home renovations, family adventures, DIY projects, and the everyday moments/stories of my life that brought me to this point.

Who Am I?

In short, I became a mom at 18. Got married shortly after. Bought my first home. Had another child. Remained married 5 years. Widowed. Became a nurse. Remarried. Had my third and final child. Became a nurse practitioner. Sold my first home and bought my current home. And that brings us up to speed pretty quick.

What Am I?

As I mentioned, I am a wife and mom of three. My husband and I have been married 17 years, 19 years together. I have three children: my oldest daughter is 26, my middle daughter is 21; and my youngest son is 16. We have 2 large dogs, 2 bunnies, and fish. I was raised by two DIYers and my husband worked in housing construction when I met him. I love music, reading, poetry, true crime, digging in the dirt, working in the yard, home projects, thrifting, yoga/exercise, baking, traveling/vacationing/RVing… but also, I’m a homebody.

Why Am I Here?

I know struggle. I know love. I know loss. I know forgiveness. The older I get (not saying I’m old, just mid age–hard to believe) the more my time feels precious.   My home, my friends, and my family are my sanctuary.  So, if you are one who is tired of the hustle and bustle and want to connect with someone who is also tired of that, you are in the right place 🙂

So, buckle in! Yes, the brief description above explains my life in simple term, but there is 40+ years of my life, struggles, and experiences who molded me into the person I am today.  If I was just the brief explanation above, I would be a pretty bland person. Honestly, I would wonder why you are here?
